The tube (Pipe Body or Variable Tube) is part of the flute that has the fingering holes. Some flutes are made from hard woods, like burl walnut, oak, or mahogany, while others are made from cedar, or pine. Flutes can have an open or a closed tube. What's the difference?

Open Body (photo to the right) end creates a Louder and slightly harsher sound.

Closed end (photo to the right) results in a more of a mellow sound. Wrap can be removed and you can carve your own "vision".
